CUREE's CPD Programmes

Professional Learning Programme Workshop Series

"The quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of its teachers" Mackinsey and Company (2007)

International research reveals what effective CPD looks like - professional learning opportunities which have an impact on teachers and their students involve:

  • specialist expertise coupled with peer support
  • sustained, enquiry-orientated learning
  • use of tools and protocols
  • learning to learn from looking
  • using aspirations for specific pupils
  • leadership support
  • proactivity
  • developing practice and theory side by side

Here at CUREE we have been working hard designing and creating our upcoming Professional Learning Programme workshop series.  Designed and developed to enable teachers to explore and apply specialist expertise and research evidence on a range of leadership, teaching and learning strategies.

Increase the Impact of Your CPD on Staff and Pupil Learning

How do you know that your CPD offer is having the greatest possible impact on staff and pupil learning? This programme helps you use the New Standard for Teachers’ Professional Development to plan, support and evaluate the effectiveness of your continuing professional development and learning (CPDL) offer for your colleagues and your pupils.

In particular you will be able to access CUREE’s acclaimed tools for generating naturally occurring evidence for evaluating the impact of CPDL and connecting staff and pupil learning. Find out more and book here

Our workshops are tailored to offer

1. key tools and resources to ensure sustained and effective professional learning

2. modelling excellence in CPD whilst building CPD capacity in your organisation leading to improved student outcomes

We will introduce learning in a way that is engaging, and helps with the evaluation of impact; provide tools to sustain learning and help staff refine strategies in light of student responses; make research and evidence accessible and useful focusing on high level strategies.

These workshops explore the evidence base in an active and engaging way, provide high leverage strategies, time to reflect and action plan your next steps and tools which will sustain and support learning with colleagues when back in school or college.

On occasions we also offer seminars to share new research findings and subsequently offer workshops in the light of emerging evidence.

Many of our events are run at our offices in coventry (two minutes from the train station) - but popular workshops are offered at other venues.
