Tailored school Improvement/Combined CPD and School/College Improvement packages

We  provide bespoke school or college improvement packages which include a range of practical workshops for support and teaching staff, interactive learning tools and leadership consultancy services. As specialist experts in using the international research base around school/college improvement we will undertake a careful diagnosis of your needs and design a programme which offers effectively CPD, high leverage strategies and resources to improve staff and student outcomes.

Frederick Bird is a large primary school in Coventry designated a Teaching School in Sept 2011. CUREE are working  with Frederick Bird to build Research & Development (R&D) into the core work of the alliance by:

 

  • supporting Specialist Leaders of Education(SLE)  and Local Leaders of Education(LLE) to embed R&D into their work
  • helping the alliance to wrap R&D around their use of IRIS connect

 

SLEs and LLEs are supported through workshops and resources that support colleagues in embedding R&D in their roles.

The alliance will be supported in wrapping R&D around their use of IRIS Connect through an initial training session with pioneers, followed by whole alliance training enabling participants to develop a research-based language to analyse and reflect on their use of Iris video.

 

Kenton School is one of the largest academies in the United Kingdom, educating in excess of 2,000 pupils across Key Stage 3 to 5. Over the last year we have worked extensively with them providing:

a)      The full SKEIN service (including initial diagnosis and assessment, training in SET tools and progress review/acknowledgement);

b)      A bespoke mix of resources on both the process and skills of coaching and also the pedagogic approaches that teachers can use to focus their co-coaching exchanges including 4  packs from the Effective Mentoring and Coaching (EMAC) suite, x3 face to face sessions – a combination of x2 half day training sessions with 24 lead coaches/advocates and x1 whole staff INSET and Inter-sessional email support and option of phone coaching;

c)       Customised route maps (one for teaching staff and one for associate staff) linked to research-based resources tailored to your priorities.

 St Thomas More Catholic School is a Roman Catholic Comprehensive School with academy status providing for the educational needs of 11-19 year old students. We are currently working with them to ensure this outstanding Teaching School to ensure depth and challenge is provided in both staff and pupil learning. Services include:

a)      a SKEIN report identifying the schools strengths and areas for development as an effective and efficient learning environment for staff and pupils

b)      a project plan in outline at the start and agreed in detail following the SKEIN report

c)       a training/ co-construction workshop for a team of project champions

d)      a larger scale interactive half day seminar/ workshop to fit in with the rhythms of CPD in the school, through which to raise awareness and build staff ownership and understanding of the role of challenge in learning for both staff and students,

e)      A route map of high leverage professional learning/ enquiry/evaluation tools related to different contexts that are hot spots for further development in school and to the headline strategies shown by research to be effective

f)       Ongoing telephone and occasional face to face coaching/capacity building

g)      A structure for an evaluation report/ workshop

h)      Training in meta-analysis of mixed qualitative and quantitative data, ( plus an option for back up data analysis and reporting for the final report)
