Aim: To investigate the significance of formal planning between teacher and teaching assistant prior to or during the support process.

Improving outcomes for learners with English as an additional language (EAL) in science
Aim: To see how the science curriculum at KS3 could be made more accessible for EAL learners of Pakistani origin and to develop an effective teaching partnership between specialist subject staff and ethnic minority achievement grant funded (EMA) support staff.
Fostering ability
Aim: To identify more able students, develop teaching methods that encourage them to reach their full potential, and examine whether identifying the more able students enables teachers to be more effective in meeting their needs.
