LAST CHANCE! New Leadership Development Programmes in the West Midlands

Help Design New Leadership Development Programmes in the Region

Whats the problem?

In 2010 there were a total of 450 Executive Heads in England. We don’t have accurate figures for the number now but we know there are at least 66 leaders with that or a similar title in our region alone. Alongside this we see a dramatic increase in the numbers of deputy heads being catapulted into headship positions with little notice or preparation. Again, numbers are uncertain but we know of at least 40 in just two of the region’s LA areas.

Peer Review

Are you looking to work together with fellow schools to evaluate your practice in a mutually-beneficial partnership? CUREE's programme for Peer Review training draws on successes in conducting over 60 school reviews, all scaffolded by research-based tools and expertise in helping leaders use them, to support colleagues in conducting impactful Peer Reviews.

Can we improve the standard of speaking and listening during group work?

Aim: The aims of our project were to improve the overall standard of speaking and listening in the classroom, enabling the children to share their ideas. We particularly wanted to improve their listening skills, to encourage the children to listen carefully to others. Our third aim was to improve on the childrens abilities to engage in conversation and be able to comment and extend on other children's ideas.

What are leaders, teachers and students learning from collaborative approaches to personalisation?

Aim: This research project set out to explore a collaborative learning journey towards what may now be recognised as the partnership-based component of personalisation. Specifically it explored the following key questions in relation to the development of partnership-based approaches to the delivery of personalised learning: What has been the impact of the experience of partnership on the leaders' leadership? What has been the impact of the experience of partnership on the teachers' teaching? What has been the impact of the experience of partnership on the students' learning?
