At the Conservative Party conference on 4th October 2010 CUREE held a fringe event to consider the Future of the Profession. With the government’s new education agenda come substantial freedoms from central prescription and freedoms to innovate. Such freedoms, like all entitlements, bring responsibilities. CUREE's Chief Executive, Philippa Cordingley, presented a paper on 15 April 2009 to the American Education Research Association (AERA) in San Diego. In it, she explores how the English system has supported use of education research over the last 13 years and highlights the limitations of knowledge management and dissemination/communications theories and strategies for shaping such work.
